Got this myself on my phone, and also it just rejected to upgrade. Here's what benefited me.

Edit: this seems to be a concern that Facebook are aware of. It's a problem with the Facebook application, as well as not a generalised Play Shop problem.

This is what helped me at least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Store, Clear data and Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Services > Manage space, Clear all data and also Clear cache


It doesn't injured if you restart your phone before you attempt updating facebook again. And also, the mount was SLOW. Just at the very least 4-5 mins. But, it did work. Otherwise attempt to uninstall it, or just await a repair.
