Got this myself on my phone, as well as it simply rejected to update. Below's what worked for me.

Edit: this seems to be a concern that Facebook know. It's an issue with the Facebook app, and not a generalised Play Shop concern.

This is what benefited me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Store, Clear data as well as Clear cache

  2. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Provider > Manage space, Clear all data and Clear cache


It does not injured if you reboot your phone before you attempt upgrading facebook once more. And also, the install was SLOW. Simply at least 4-5 minutes. Yet, it did work. Otherwise try to uninstall it, or simply await a repair.
