Got this myself on my phone, and also it simply refused to update. Here's what helped me.

Edit: this seems to be a concern that Facebook recognize. It's an issue with the Facebook application, as well as not a generalised Play Store issue.

This is what helped me at least.

  1. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Store, Clear information and also Clear cache

  2. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Solutions > Manage room, Clear all data and also Clear cache


It does not injured if you restart your phone prior to you attempt upgrading facebook once again. And, the mount was SLOW. Simply at least 4-5 minutes. Yet, it did job. If not attempt to uninstall it, or simply wait for a fix.
