Got this myself on my phone, as well as it simply rejected to upgrade. Below's what benefited me.

Edit: this seems to be a problem that Facebook understand. It's a problem with the Facebook application, and also not a generalised Play Shop issue.

This is what benefited me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Store, Clear information and also Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Services > Manage area, Clear all data and Clear cache


It does not harmed if you restart your phone prior to you try upgrading facebook again. And also, the install was SLOW. Simply at least 4-5 mins. But, it did job. If not try to uninstall it, or merely wait on a repair.
