Something Wrong with Facebook

Facebook went offline for several individuals on Thursday, with the world's most prominent social media informing individuals that "something failed".

When visiting Facebook.com, instead of seeing the typical homescreen or news feed, customers were greeted with a blank screen as well as a short error message.

The interruption started at around 5.30 pm BST however, for the majority of users, showed up to have been settled around 20 mins after.

Down Detector, which looks at records of preferred services being down, displayed outages in the UK, Europe and also the US.

The site went down on Thursday afternoon as well as brief-ly showed up to function once again for some customers.

A spokesperson for Facebook has said they are exploring what happened.

Meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook president, went to an event placed on by Oculus, the virtual reality headset company Facebook owns.
